Even though Habanero pepper is known for its spiciness, it is also used in the production of cosmetics, tear gas, as coating protection against rodents in irrigation or electrical systems and as a component in the elaboration of paint for boats because of its anticorrosive property. The habanero pepper is native of south America but it is widely known in the southeast of Mexico, specifically in Yucatan which is the largest producer in the country. It is one of the spiciest chili in the world. It is also a good source of vitamin A, contains twice the amount of vitamin C than citrics and strengthens the immune system.
